Full Time Job
FOX Sports is looking for a Director of Remote Studio Operations to join our team. The Director of Remote Studio Operations oversees the operations and engineering of our produced ''studio'' productions around the country and around the world (eg: Big Noon Kickoff, World Cup, Super Bowl, etc.). As part operations and part engineer, you will be highly skilled in the unique role of creating a remote production environment, sometimes out of nothing, including staging, connectivity, invention and engineering. You will report to the VP of Remote Studio Operations.
SNAPSHOT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Remote Studio Operations has a leadership role in the planning, engineering, logistics and execution of the following:
Remote Studio Shows
• BNK
• Super Bowl Pre Show
• World Cups
• Euros
• Other Tentpole Studio Shows, like Belmont, MLB, etc.
Technology and Trucks
• Fulfill duties as someone who will help select facilities, equipment and personnel as it relates to our mobile units ana facilities
• Work with and become an expert in Fox Sports' brand new ''JEWEL EVENT FLYPACK SYSTEM,'' an 8-figure investment in our own facilities to cover some of our biggest shows
Other Sports and Tasks
• Develop and find new talent in terms of freelance technical managers and engineers
• Tech manage events as needed
• Assigned to other, non-remote studio events as needed
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Extensive live remote sports experience including front line engineering, technical management, and personnel oversight
• Experience in the procurement of equipment, facilities, etc. and perform negotiation when needed
• Basic electrical engineering and networking knowledge
• Ability to tech manage a show from beginning to end
• Hands-on capabilities in terms of engineering and triaging issues as they come up
• Capability to understand the work-a-day environment, long hours, and extended day assignments and be able to travel domestically and abroad, sometimes at long periods of time on end
