The Role
OVERALL: This position will support the EVP of Physical Production to oversee all logistical aspects of Concordia's production slate. This role will also develop and improve the existing production-related policies and communication as well as implement deeper infrastructure for the department and it's operation within the company at-large.
PHYSICAL PRODUCTION: This position will build budgets and schedules for potential projects and track the progress of projects across development and production for features, shorts and series, as well as work with a pool of freelance producers/line producers to do the same. Support the production, development, creative leads, EPs, production teams on projects as well as oversee hiring on green-lit projects. Work closely with the in-house production manager to maintain and track progress of projects from commencement to delivery, including working with freelance line producers, producers and post supervisors to track / confirm final deliverables and oversee the completion and delivery of project wrap binders. On-boarding of green-lit projects, working with the Production Manager and the individual project's logistical lead, to initiate and implement Concordia's production policy and confirm understanding of deliverables, including understanding of the inclusion rider. The position will focus both on work at the company level but also line-producing on specific projects.
FINANCIALS: Work in support to the EVP of Physical Production, the financial controller, production manager, showrunners and line producers to facilitate working cash flow and milestone schedules for active projects and development funding, as well as track weekly cost reports for current productions.
LEGAL: Initiate, track and lead legal agreements across development and production, working closely with the creative executives and attorneys to facilitate full execution, including monitoring the legal tracker and conducting weekly meetings with outside counsel and key members of the leadership team. Track and assist in negotiations for execution of production-specific legal agreements for each active production. Lead the project-specific long form agreements liaising directly with Concordia legal and production teams, including crew deal memos and employment long forms.
SPECIAL PROJECTS: At times, this role will involve being the lead point of contact for special internal projects and driving those projects on a day-to-day basis, working closely with the founder of the Studio.
INCLUSION RIDER: Concordia has enacted an inclusion rider for all funded activities and this role will be the driving force in liaising directly with the project's leads to confirm the rider has been honored throughout all phases of the production.
Minimum Qualifications:
10 years experience in physical production as a producer, line producer, production manager and/or supervising producer on non-fiction features/series; and/or having worked as a production executive overseeing non-fiction films and series.
Extensive experience in managing both high-to-low budget non-fiction features and series
Excellent organizational skills and effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills
Fluent in Movie Magic Budgeting, G-Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (and Asana a plus)
Extensive knowledge of post-production workflow with picture and sound finishing / delivery
Knowledge of production-related legal materials and contracts, including licensing, fair use, and insurances
