This role is responsible for strategic marketing, media and partnerships across Comedy Central, Paramount Network, and TV Land.
The mission is to secure partnerships and brand extensions that drive awareness of the brand, tune-in for our shows and attendance at our experiental events. The position will develop strategies to attract new audiences and brand partnerships by leveraging our respective channel’s intellectual property through through multichannel outreach campaigns which will generate buzz/press, compliment awareness, drive tune-in, and generate revenue (via sponsorship, rev-share, licensing, etc.).
The person in this role will work across the key functional teams at the channel brands, including marketing & events, creative, digital, strategy & business development, business & legal affairs, production and talent & development do execute new partnerships. Additioanlly this role will work in close collaboration with Velocity Integrated Marketing team, Ad Solutions to create opportunities for advertising clients to sponsor and activate around these new partnerships to drive new revenue streams. and The VP Partnerships will also liaise with other business units such as Digital Studios, Audio, Live Events and Consumer Products, as appropriate. The position requires strong organizational and collaborative skills, and delegation and support from the current Viacom Velocity and brand teams to achieve goals.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of relevant Integrated Marketing, Partnership Marketing experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Additional Qualifications
• Identify, cultivate and execute new business and partner opportunities through strong relationships with dynamic partners across the advertising, media, brand and agency landscape
• Advocate for opportunities internally, by working closely with key brand stakeholders
• Spearhead best-in-class brand integrations around priority programming and tent-pole events
• Support the development of interactive programming around media, content, and technology at events like SXSW, Comic-Con, Comedy Central’s Clusterfest, positioning the brands as leading industry voices and culture-drivers
• Develop partner marketing strategy, events, presentations and messaging
• Diligently manage budgets for campaigns, programs and activations
• Leverage latest trends, data and insights to identify marketplace opportunities with brand-aligned talent and social media influencers, bolstering relevance with target demographics
• Establish relationships with sales and partners to ensure the brands are represented and aligned with Ad Solutions priorities and media partners
• Collaborate across internal functional areas (ex. Marketing, Creative, Production, Content, ad sales and brand sales) to ensure partnership strategy is executed and integrated with all areas of Network Group and Ad Solutions
• Serve as the main point of contact for key partnerships with multiple internal touchpoints
• Bring cross-functional teams together to make strategic recommendations and optimize deal structures to enhance opportunity
• Negotiate deals with new and existing partners to increase the size and scope of the opportunity; partner with Business & Legal Affairs and Business Development to manage long form contract negotiations
• Lead communication and coordination with key internal stakeholders to maximize partnerships across business areas
• Define the overarching structure and value proposition for partnerships with industry players, cultivate relationships, and execute the vision
• Help establish valuation standards across departments when it comes to brand partnerships and relationships.
