Job Title: Comedy Central Shows – Digital Intern

Job Summary
Do you love TV? Are you a digital whizz? Do you know the correct way to pronounce “GIF”? Comedy Central is looking for a creative, innovative and organised junior hoping to launch their career in digital. The Comedy Central Shows Intern will work across our biggest programmes and live events, working closely with the Shows Editor to help promote Comedy Central’s shows to new audiences.
We’re looking for someone with a genuine love of pop culture, the internet and an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of television. You’ll be a creative and organised comedy fan who knows how to string a sentence together and work magic Photoshop and Premiere. You’ll be a great communicator and proactive team player with a head for analytics, excellent time-management skills and good attention to detail.
Like a mullet haircut, we’re looking for the perfect blend of fun and professionalism and while you’ll have creativity bursting out of every fingertip, you’ll also need to be able to juggle a number of tasks and manage your time efficiently.
Daily Responsibilities:
• Looking after the daily clips from The Daily Show, from cutting to publishing across our digital platforms
• Suggesting new streams of content for our priority shows
• Coordinating the publishing and optimisation of content across social media channels
• Exporting video for the website and YouTube
• Organising and mine our archive to resurface videos across branded platforms
• Liaising with other departments to ensure coordinated rollout of campaigns
• Helping to optimise videos for each platform
• Assisting the digital editorial team on other projects as needed
Role-Specific Skills / Attributes:
Desirable:
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop
• Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro
• Experience in a digital environment
Required:
• Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube
• Experience with Mac and PC operating systems
• Experience with content management systems
• Desire to learn
• Some understanding of the needs of an editorial team
• Highly developed organisational and communication skills
• An affinity and familiarity with Comedy Central and its brand values
• Ability to build great working relationships and take direction
