Duplications Operator - Entry Level

PURPOSE: To facilitate Duplication, Off-air services, Transmission feeds, encoding material and PAL Conversion requests in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operate VTR's, TBC's and all related duplication equipment.
• Knowledge of waveform monitor, Vectorscope, patch bay and routing systems.
• Provide trouble shooting of duplication audio and video signal paths.
• Maintain technical and quality control for the duplication and off-air operations.
• Operation of both analog & digital satellite and fiber feeds.
• Ensure all dubs and feeds meet technical standards.
• Additional duties as needed and assigned by supervisor(s).
• MPEG2 encoding into an asset management system.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Minimum 1 year previous experience in a duplications facility or a television station
• Satellite and fiber transmission inbound and outbound experience preferred
• Experience with standard conversion equipment also preferred
• PAL conversion experience desired
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Must be detail oriented and accurate
• Must be able to work midnight shift and/or weekends
• Must be able to lift 5-10 pounds
• Constant bending and stooping involved
