Overview:
The Production Manager (PM) acts as a liaison between the Tour and the Venue. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the PM is responsible for all aspects of planning and executing shows. The PM will contact tour directly, in advance, to ensure all technical needs, logistical planning and hospitality are pre- planned and meet budgetary requirements. Also they are responsible for overseeing the management and scheduling of production staff including house technicians and stagehands in conjunction with the Stage Manager(SM).
The main responsibility of the PM is to run shows and provide each tour with a welcoming, efficient and professional experience at College Street Music Hall. This is achieved by coordinating tour needs and delegating tasks to the house crew, ensuring safety of all crew members on stage, providing all agreed upon hospitality to artists, accommodating tour requests, time management of whole production and effectively tracking show costs (aside from hospitality) for the General Manager.
General Responsibilities: (See addendum)
• Interview hire and manage stage hands w/ SM
• Detailed technical knowledge of production capabilities
• Inventory, maintenance and repair of all house equipment
• Advancing shows
• Handle all DOS responsibilities
• Abide and enforce any local regulations pertaining to production volume
length.
• Manage backstage access and enforcement
• Facilitate with GM on any show changes affecting house staff • Put together security estimates for shows
Job Requirements:
Must be able to work long hours with varying physical requirements Lift or Carry over 50lbs
Not suffer from vertigo
Be pleasant and calm in demeanor
Be able to multi task and communicate effectively in high stress situations Work quickly and efficiently within time requirements
General first aid knowledge
Proper grooming and attire
Detailed Responsibilities:
Advance:
Must contact tour at least 1 month prior to show date to send venue specifications and information.
Follow up two weeks prior to show to finalize all but hospitality.
Ensure all necessary meter bags are requested from NHPA one week prior to show.
Send internal settlement 24-48 hours prior to show including cost projections for stage hands, catering, rental , security and determine house configuration(flexible seating/ pipe and drape).
Put together security estimates for shows.
Day Of Show:
Liaison for tour to the General Manager, Promoter and Box Office.
Ensuring tour needs for parking have been facilitated through New Haven Parking Enforcement
Proper accommodations
Coordinate security needs for tour accordingly with GM. Accurately track expenses and consolidate for GM.
Cleanliness and safety of all stage light affiliated areas in Venue(Spot ops/Catwalk, left/right side boxes, stage right distribution box, cable management, FOH)
Audio:
Be able to safely power on and power off PA system.
Have capacity to run single microphone for auditorium style events.
Lights:
Be able to safely power on and power off entirety of house lighting rig. Knowledge of general specifications of rig
15R Spots, 5R Beams, MAC 101's, Rush Pars, 6x9 Lekos, 10° Long throws, 400amp breaker box, 2 optical splitters, additional DMX signal 1 universe of moving lights, 1 universe of conventional lights.
Stage:
Must be able to operate all motor controls in a safe and deliberate manner. Have ability to safely perform job duties in stage grid 65 ft above
performance deck.
