The Job
At CNN+, the Senior UX Writer is responsible for researching, strategizing, and writing for the content experience. We are looking for a UX Writer who understands how users think and speak, and can create a strategy that works in concert with the interface to guide users through an intuitive and easy-to-use experience.
You will be responsible for creating the copy on everything from buttons to sign up flows to error messages and must deliver the product's message from the inside out. You are able to ensure our content and tone are consistent, easy to understand, and aligned to the goals of the product. Our budding UX Writing function lives within the design team, and will be highly collaborative with Design, Research, Product, and Marketing teams.
In addition to writing skills, our ideal candidate will understand the process of researching competitors in the spaces in which they operate and the needs of the end-user. You are data-driven and understand how to iterate based on identified pain points and performance metrics. Verbal communication and presentation skills are essential for this role, so you can effectively present findings to the development team and various stakeholders.
The Essentials
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• 8+ years of experience in UX writing, copywriting, and/or transactional content
• Deep understanding of how to work alongside Designers and Product Managers
• Experience using tools like Figma/FigJam, Dropbox Paper, or Invision Freehand to collaborate with Design during early concept work
• Experience preparing detailed competitive and consumer analyses
