Responsibilities
Role Outline:
• The UX Researcher will be a core member of our in-house Product Design Capability and will help lead research that uncovers meaningful customer insights that drive product delight, innovation, and business success.
Your Day to Day Includes:
• Partnering with product managers, designers, and engineers to define and prioritize customer discovery activities or validate ideas and concepts
• Supporting testing initiatives across key product areas: Web, Mobile Apps, Connected Devices (Apple TV, Roku, etc.…), and Voice/Conversational apps (Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.…)
• Designing, conducting research and analyzing data using quantitative and qualitative methods such as A/B testing's, surveys, multivariate testing, ethnographic/field research, diary studies, user/usability testing (remote and in-person), etc. to generate tactical and strategic insights, as well as actionable recommendations to drive product innovation and design improvements for users.
Who we're looking for:
• The right candidate has case studies showcasing their experience in the planning and execution of lean discovery initiatives that inform product and design decision making, alongside examples of how they have proactively identified and executed generative research that provides a more holistic view into the needs and habits of customers
• You love to roll up their sleeves and gets your hands dirty and have an obsession with uncovering meaningful customer insights. ''Start with Why'' and understand the right questions to ask to gain insights
• Self-driven and motivated to understand behavior, context, and motivation
• Can select research/test methods that achieve the most insightful results within the realities of budget and time constraints
• Have the ability to develop in-person interview scripts but are prepared to go completely off-script during an interview
Requirements:
• 3 years of experience working within Product organizations, conducting quantitative and qualitative UX research independently
• Undergraduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a related field OR comparable UX research experience
• Worked with web and mobile products
• Familiar with user-centered design principles and UX best practices
• Experience presenting research findings to peers and senior leadership in a group setting
Desired Characteristics:
• Are curious, inquisitive, and obsessed with understanding ''Why?''
• Understanding of quantitative methods, behavioral analysis, and statistical concepts
• Experience using Qualtrics to author surveys and manage data
• Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML/CSS
• Experience and/or interest in news media, investing, or personal finance
