Responsibilities
OVERVIEW
The planning producer will work with the News desk on story ideas and assignments, and maintain forward diaries, highlight big events and develop contacts with relevant organizations and guests. The planning producer will also work on logistics and organize filming assignments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Work with CNBC news desk on assignments
• Maintain forward diaries and highlight big events
• Come up with coverage plans for major Calendar events
• Work on logistics, including, but not limited to, visas, travel, accommodation, and accreditation
• Manage relevant permissions and clearances for filming either for, or in concert with, news desk or field producers
• Liaise with other CNBC international teams on upcoming content & promotion of said content
• Clearly communicate with CNBC news desk editors on coverage plans
• Liaising with producers on travel, crewing, risk assessments and call sheets
• Work with location to receive permissions for live shots
• Communicate clearly with tech team; maintain relationships with freelance/staff cameramen
• Offer writing / editorial skills to daily shows / feature shows on an ad hoc basis
• Establish and maintain relationships with, and be knowledgeable about companies in current universe
• Assist head of Bookings with key pitches for major events, securing interviews
• Developing productive working relationships with colleagues in other departments – at all levels - and ensuring cross-departmental projects proceed smoothly
Qualifications/Requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
~Knowledge of financial markets & business news
~Experience working in a real-time news environment
~Ability to work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and the business
~Well-organised, with excellent time management skills.
~Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and effectively prioritize workload
~Computer-literate (MS Office, and beyond)
~A high level of written and verbal communication
