Responsibilities
CNBC is partnering with Acorns, the country's fastest growing financial wellness system, on the importance of educating current and future investors. We are building an editorial and production team to create actionable, relatable and uplifting personal finance and investing content which will inspire and empower everyday Americans to make informed financial decisions.
The Photo Editor will be responsible for curating the team's photography database and securing rights and clearances for imagery used in written pieces, digital videos, graphics and social media posts aligned with an optimistic target brand voice.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a short term position with an estimated duration of eighteen (18) months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
Responsibilities
may include, but are not limited to:
• Source, select and edit imagery for inclusion in deliverable content
• Assist writers, video producers and social media director as they incorporate still photos in editorial content for digital platforms
• Monitor news agency wire feeds of 15-20K photos daily for publication in digital content and videos
• Curate both editorial and headline photos for inclusion across multiple digital platforms
• Execute assignments generated by managing and senior editors
• Maintain and administer centralized photo database
• Secure rights and clearances for imagery use
• Special projects as assigned
Qualifications
/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree, or comparable professional experience
• At least 3 years working as a photo editor for a news organization
• Mastery of DSLR cameras (Canon, Sony, Panasonic), Adobe Photoshop and other industry standard equipment and tools
• Working knowledge of photography databases, including Getty, AP Images and Reuters, and processes for securing rights and clearances
• Ability to edit still photography for digital platforms
• Detail-oriented and extremely organized
• Ability to work efficiently in fast paced environment, while meeting tight news deadlines
• Excellent teamwork skills and strong work ethic
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY and Englewood Cliffs, NJ
