Part Time Unpaid Internship
Responsibilities
Do you want to work for one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies in the development, production, marketing of entertainment and news?
To join one of our 12-month Internships you will be studying or have no more than one year of experience post your graduating with a degree-level or equivalent qualification.
You must also be eligible to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the internship.
To ensure that you are considered for the placement that best fits your interest and skillset, we recommend that you apply to no more than 3 placements.
Qualifications
/Requirements
Exact responsibilities will vary slightly between each team; however, the main responsibilities of any News Production Intern will include:
Programming:
• Supporting the output production team
• Assisting in the edit suite
• Managing video 3 taped footage
• Helping to build the daily rundown
• Gaining exposure to live gallery
• Assisting in general production duties
News Desk:
• Managing calls to the news desk
• Organising and managing guest bookings
• Pitching, researching and booking guests
• Liaising with internal/external stakeholders at various levels on a regular basis
• Contributing to adhoc projects as required
• Maintaining calendar of events, adjusting accordingly to changes in schedules
Essential Skills:
• A passion for Broadcasting and Media (particularly an interest in finance and/or business) with desire to develop career in News
• Strong office administration and IT skills: confident user Microsoft Office
• Have a sound grip of business terminology
• Have a knowledge of and interest in financial markets and business journalism
• Ability to work with confidential materials discreetly and responsibly
• Proactive and enthusiastic
• Calm under pressure
• Self-starter and fast learner, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a busy team
• Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with strong interpersonal skills; confidence in communicating with Senior Management
• Willingness to learn and ''can do'' attitude
Education
and Qualifications:
To join one of our 12-month Internships you will be studying or have no more than one year of experience post your graduating with a degree-level or equivalent qualification, specializing in Business, Finance or Journalism-related subjects, seeking a 12-month internship.
You must have a passion for Broadcasting and Media (particularly an interest in finance and/or business) with a desire to develop career in News.
