Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of News Desk, the Associate Producer works with a team 8 across the region to pursue first or exclusive interviews with news makers and market movers.
He or she will also work with show teams to develop compelling news segments by finding and booking guests.
He or she will be responsible for building and expanding relationships with guests, corporates, government agencies, PR firms and other key stakeholders.
This role is ideal for candidate who has at least 3 years in journalism and TV news production, with a keen interest in business and current affairs.
Strong candidates include those who have business C-level contacts across the region and proven record of securing high-profile guest interviews.
Most interviews are for live TV shows, but a large number of them will be repurposed into digital pieces and social media posts.
Qualifications/Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Book and coordinate interview segments, travel if necessary for assignments
• Conceive of segment and story ideas, interview questions, and elements for shows - work with the production team to develop these ideas into compelling programming.
• Conduct pre-interviews and prepare the guest for their on-air appearance
• Networking with guests and PR representatives and grow CNBC's market lead position
• Communication with news teams, producers and editors, anchors, and operations staff regarding guests interviews.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• 3 years of journalism experience in broadcast media with interest in business news and current affairs
• Guest booking experience is required, ideally with track records of booking C-suite guests
• Field producing skills, ideally with live show experience
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Ambitious, competitive, but also a strong team player
• Able to work in a fast-pace newsroom environment and handle deadline pressure
REQUIREMENTS
• A University Degree in social science
• Excellent command of English. A second language is desired, but not essential
• Flexible to work varied hours dependent upon business needs
