Responsibilities
CNBC is partnering with Acorns, the country's fastest growing financial wellness system, on the importance of educating current and future investors. We are building an editorial and production team to create actionable, relatable and uplifting personal finance and investing content which will inspire and empower everyday Americans to make informed financial decisions.
The Graphics Editor will be responsible for creating and designing engaging, innovative and visually interesting infographics to support written pieces, videos and social media posts and aligned with an optimistic target brand voice.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a short term position with an estimated duration of eighteen (18) months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
Responsibilities
may include, but are not limited to:
• Design custom graphics for video, print and social media assets
• Develop innovative and creative ways of presenting data and information, while maintaining accuracy and editorial integrity
• Partner with editors, writers and video producers to generate unique graphic story-telling and production strategies
• Create standalone infographics aligned with content strategy set by Managing Editor
• Special projects as assigned
Qualifications
/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts or Computer Art, or comparable professional experience
• At least 4 years of experience in news production with knowledge of graphic design and motion graphic design
• Knowledgeable and proficient in the latest Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator) and other graphic software including, but not limited to, Cinema 4D, Maya, 3D Studio Max and Infusion
• Ongoing interest in, and knowledge of, current design and graphics trends
• Proven ability in creative graphic development for multiple digital platforms (online, social, mobile)
• Ability to decipher and express data in meaningful and visually engaging ways
• Ensure the look and feel of graphic solutions are consistent with brand and style guidelines
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to work efficiently in fast paced environment, while meeting tight news deadlines
• Excellent teamwork skills and strong work ethic
• Must be able to take full and independent ownership of demanding projects, while also being able to take direction from co-workers and producers
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY and Englewood Cliffs, NJ
