Responsibilities
OVERVIEW
The Communications Manager is a proactive, highly motivated self-starter. The manager provides day to day press & PR support to the business, working closely with the Head of Communications. The Communications Manager takes responsibility for internal communications across the business in APAC and works on a range of initiatives in the digital and social media arenas to promote the CNBC brand and output.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work closely with the newsroom to identify and proactively disseminate breaking news and big interviews
• Partner with internal teams to identify publicity opportunities
• Create and execute strategic proactive external PR plans for CNBC's long form content including research, building media lists and pitching and coordinating interviews for talent and producers
• Generate press materials including news releases, bios, media alerts, programming announcements, pitch letters and talking points
• Cultivate positive relationships with talent, producers and all key internal stakeholders
• Work with CNBC's commercial agency, Catalyst, to design a proactive PR strategy across the APAC region to drive revenue and commercial growth
• Develop strong relationships with CNBC's Distribution and Business Development team to support the launch of partner channels in emerging markets
• Manage the internal communications within APAC and in conjunction with Head of International Communications
• Build and maintain positive relationships with business, consumer and trade press
• Manage internal photo shoots for Business day programs, talent and events
• Monitor competitive environment via daily review of competitive/industry news
• Daily management and upkeep of the @CNBCiPR Twitter feed
• Work closely with CNBC's social media and digital team to promote content online
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's Degree
• Previous Public Relations experience
• Experience in television or print media industries preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Ability to maximize opportunities and thrive in a fast-paced, detailed-oriented environment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Energetic, creative and ruthless attention to detail
REQUIREMENTS
• Computer literate (MS Office, and beyond)
• Eligible to work in Singapore
• Willingness to travel
