Responsibilities
OVERVIEW
Reporting to the President & Managing Director of CNBC International, the CFO will manage core financial activity, strategic analysis and commercial insights across the organization's International business. Additionally, the CFO will have direct financial oversight of all commercial and production budgets and serve as the primary liaison between the Leadership Team from all business in the portfolio, supported by the Finance team, based in London and Singapore, to accurately report the performance of the business and partner with Corporate Finance and Business peers to drive growth across our international footprint.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and manage an international Finance team responsible for overall management of the P&L, balance sheet, financial reporting and analysis for the international businesses
• Work closely with the President & Managing Director and CFO, CNBC US to define the finance strategy for CNBC International and assess performance against this strategy
• Facilitate business strategy discussions around core NBC finance cycles (Long Range Plan, Budget) and proactively support all business growth initiatives
• Lead Finance across the International business, with specific emphasis on strategic analysis to help monitor the health of the market and initiatives to grow the business
• Manage the creation and upkeep of KPI/Dashboards for performance reviews
• Build deep working relationships with Business Leaders of Strategic Initiatives (Distribution Partners, Content • Acquisition and Licensing, and Non Traditional Distribution) and create global visibility to profitability to accurately allocate investment and resourcing for core growth areas
• Lead all planning, budgeting, and pacing cycles for CNBC International cash flow and capital expenditures
• Actively engage and build relationships with adjacent business units to help drive strategic initiatives and new product investment
• Directly support our President & Managing Director and act as a thought partner to drive tactical and strategic operation of the business.
• Partner with the CFO, CNBC US and finance peers to identify and implement operational and financial best practices across the business
• Be an active member of the Leadership Team
• Manage, coach and lead the Finance Team, ensuring the ongoing development of direct reports and sel
• Work closely with Human Resources on headcount, salary planning, payroll, tax and other issues as appropriate
Qualifications
/Requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Significant and successful, relevant senior financial management experience coupled with exceptional track record in partnering with business teams to drive results
• Demonstrated background and knowledge of senior-level corporate financial management within a large, high-profile corporate environment
• Extensive analytical and FP&A experience; proven business partner with the ability to guide and counsel on a wide variety of P&L initiatives and priorities
• Extensive experience in leading, managing and motivating teams in an International Environment across multiple time zones and a matrixed environment
• Significant experience of leading budgets and long range planning cycles across a full P&L and multiple product lines
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills with proven ability to present complex business problems to Senior Management
• Deep technical expertise in leveraging financial data and other KPIs to drive business growth
• Demonstrated project management skills and experience, coupled with excellent relationship building and problem-solving skills
• Track record of simplifying / modernizing Financial Reporting process and systems; including the ability to implement new systems and tools to drive growth
• Ability to work in a fast, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA or GE FMP / CAS or equivalent), with solid accounting background
• Relevant media experience a plus
• Experience working on digital business models, preferably in the Entertainment space
