Responsibilities
The Camera Operator is an independent one-man operation role that provides first hand field Electronic News Gathering (ENG) camera support including basic video editing for live and long form taped programming. The candidate works closely with Editorial team on a daily basis to produce content for television broadcast and digital platform. Please note that this role is based in Guangzhou.
• Responsible for daily operation of camera for live and pre-recorded News inserts from the Bureau
• Operate live and pre-recorded on-location field camera that includes rigging of lights, setting up audio, intercom, portable live streaming device and any other ancillary equipment
• Organize transmission link with service provider and liaise with International Master Control Room when required
• Perform basic non-linear video editing
• Perform local and/or overseas' assignments with shift work and over-time when required
• Be the conduit for CNBC Asia headquarter for fixing general office technical and IT issues
• Basic maintenance of broadcast and office equipment
• Make recommendations for equipment requiring capital expenditure
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
• At least 5 years of experience in ENG field camera work with skills in lighting techniques and substantial experience in live Outside Broadcast
• Experience in filming for long form programmes
• Basic knowledge of non-linear video editing
• Possess initiative and strong analytical skills at troubleshooting to resolve technical issues
• Experience in executing file transfer with fundamental knowledge of various file formats and conversion
• Independent, able to multiple tasks and work under pressure
• Knowledge of live streaming mobile device, for example LiveU or equivalent
• A team player with good interpersonal skills
• Creative and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Able to assume local or overseas' ad-hoc assignments on short notice
• Able to work flexible and/or irregular hours
