POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Concert Marketing will be responsible for coordinating show-related marketing, advertising, promotional activities and social media outreach with a concentration on concerts but not to exclude theatrical, family, and unique events. He/she will work closely with both the VP/General Manager of Theater Services and Chief Strategic Officer of Citi Performing Arts Center (CPAC), as well as key Madison Square Garden Entertainment (MSGE) management members and other CPAC team members on show, institutional (for both MSGE and CPAC), and nonprofit mission-related projects.
Ideal candidate has existing relationships with local radio stations and promotional partners, and working knowledge of Boston metro music scene, including suburbs and surrounding communities. Candidate will also be detail oriented, a self-starter, social media savvy, a creative thinker, a team player, and a strong communicator.
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
I. General
Insures effective and efficient show-marketing operations through planning, systemizing processes, creating protocols and systems, and insuring timely inter- and intradepartmental communications as appropriate.
Aligns marketing/sales operations with organizational strategic priorities in a timely and professional manner; adjusts to short term realities while insuring long-term goals and objectives are met.
Develops timely reports and updates on results and activities.
Oversees budgets and show reconciliations and works on forecasting and revising projections as appropriate.
Works with the marketing team on the annual institutional marketing plan and implementation, and provides support for the annual sales plan.
Insures institutional and nonprofit mission marketing objectives are met and integrated via shows, partners, and all other activities.
Represents the organization, and takes an appropriate leadership role when the opportunity presents itself.
Recruits and manages departmental interns and volunteers, closely coordinating with other marketing and sales team members.
Provides support for concert/show, theatre services, sales, development, educational, and/or institutional activities and projects as needed.
Actively seeks to increase both earned and unearned revenue streams for the organization, providing marketing leadership and support.
Works on special projects, initiatives, and other programs at the direction of the VP/General Manager and/or Chief Strategic Officer.
II. Advertising, Marketing, and Sales Partnerships
Acts as a leading liaison to advertising, marketing, and sales partners (corporate, media, promotional, etc.) on fulfillment and management, to include strategy development, plan implementation, and regular progress reporting.
Works with internal and external team to solicit new institutional sponsors (cash and in-kind) and partners at all levels.
Develops relationships that can be leveraged for both institution and concert/show advertising, marketing, and promotional opportunities working with both CPAC and MSGE teams.
III. Promotional Events
Takes the lead on creating, implementing, and managing show-related promotional events, awareness-building initiatives, and promotional opportunities.
Coordinates as necessary in a timely manner internal staff, external partners, and vendors.
Manages timelines, vendors, budgets, and overall planning.
IV. Design and Marketing Materials
Responsible for design and execution of marketing materials for shows (print, broadcast, promotional flyers, etc.) and provides appropriate artwork to team members for digital assets in a timely manner.
Ensures that show, venue, and nonprofit institutional branding and messaging standards are met and maintained.
Develops relationships with vendors but also builds in-house capacity and teams to develop social media strategy and to execute against show, venue, and nonprofit institutional messages and goals.
Provides appropriate copy and approved artwork in a timely manner to Associate Director of Marketing and Design/Production Manager for webpage and digital assets design.
V. Digital
Manage show-related email communications. Responsible for coordinating and scheduling messaging, design, approvals (CPAC, MSG, and show), customer data segment requests, and calendar updates. Create and execute campaigns in a timely manner, reconcile match-backs, and provide accurate analysis and reports.
Develop and implement social media platforms that speak to a live concert experience. Platforms to include twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Cross-pollinate said platforms with the nonprofit experience and message.
