(Hourly) - Festival & Distribution Consultant
Overview:
This position serves as a consultant on Cinereach's Festival & Distribution strategies, supporting Cinereach's Grantees, Productions and Co-Productions through their festival & distribution milestones. As a consultant on various ongoing projects, you will liaise closely with the Cinereach Production, Granting and Marketing teams, as well as 3rd party partners as necessary.
This position will begin with a two-week orientation and onboarding period beginning Monday, November 11th. Your schedule will differ week-to-week, averaging between 5-10 work hours per week, depending on filmmaker and workflow needs. These hours can be executed remotely, but may be requested on short notice, so some flexibility will be necessary.
This role is critical to the inward and outward success of Cinereach's Distribution, Production & Filmmaker support businesses.
The Role:
As the Festival & Distribution Consultant, you will be responsible for working alongside our Head or Grants to consult select Cinereach Grantees on successful distribution strategies. You will also be responsible for exploring and overseeing distribution strategies for all Cinereach Productions & Co-Productions. You will generally consult on festival, publicity, distribution, marketing and audience development strategies.
Candidate Profile:
As a candidate, you have 10 years of relevant experience in domestic (US) and international film distribution and festival strategy. You're experienced in rights management, marketing, and creative asset development, and have experience with publicity campaigns at all stages of film distribution (festival, theatrical, awards, etc.). You're a savvy and established relationship builder, with extensive knowledge and relationships with independent distributors, film sales agents, publicists, and creative agencies.

General Responsibilities:
- Periodic check-ins and status updates with the Director, Original Productions and potentially the Head of Distribution; this may include writing status reports
- Frequent check-ins with the Head of Grants to assess current and upcoming Grantee needs
- Check-ins as necessary/needed with the Chief of Staff or Executive Director
- You will be added to team and company-wide email distribution lists, and may be asked to stand in for the Head of Distribution at staff meetings and other team meetings as needed/necessary
- Maintain ongoing film industry contact database
- Maintain ongoing festival research database
- As needed, provide Festival & distribution consultation as needed for select Cinereach Grantees and all Cinereach Productions & Co-
Productions:
- Proactively engage with distribution companies handling Cinereach Productions & Co-Productions, and develop avenues to enhance their distribution efforts through grants and in-kind support.
- Liaise with our film production partner(s), distributors and service providers on Cinereach Productions and Co-Productions, maintaining and maximizing the appropriate level of involvement for all parties.
