Part Time Unpaid Internship
The WNBA Chicago Sky is seeking a creative communications and media intern to join their team for the 2018 season.This internship program is a hands-on opportunity for students to build their work experience and learn the behind-the-scenes operations of a WNBA team. Interns will participate in a series of events and activities exposing them to all departments as well as the many facets of working for a professional sports team.
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
• Pitch and write innovative and compelling content for Chicago Sky's website and digital properties.
• Help monitor the team's social media channels and engage with fans (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube
• Assist creative team in ideation and execution of content creation, including but not limited to filming, editing, photography and production for the team's digital assets.
• Aid in media and public relations responsibilities on game days, as well as during player appearances and press events
Desired qualifications:
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• High attention to quality and detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
• Experience and an interest in working in sports is required
Eligibility:
• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program at time of application
• This is an unpaid internship and students should ideally be able to gain academic credit for their participation
