DESCRIPTION:
The Chicago Bulls are seeking a talented, creative, and driven individual with an outgoing personality, mascot knowledge, and a love for basketball to fill the position of Mascot Assistant. As the Mascot Assistant, you will be supporting the Coordinator of Entertainment in the day-to-day operations of Benny the Bull during their performances at Bulls games, team events and all outside appearances. In addition, you will have the opportunity to assist in marketing efforts to grow the Benny brand.
We are seeking an individual who is organized, comfortable speaking and interacting with all demographics, and someone who possess the ability to quickly tackle problems within a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
GAME DUTIES & OFFICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will represent the Bulls brand by interacting directly with fans during Benny's performances, and the Assistant will collaborate with all departments to ensure the fulfillment of company goals and the support of company philosophies. In this role, you are responsible for the following activities:
• Partner with the Manager of Entertainment to handle Benny's schedule.
• Ensure that all visits, timeouts and all other Benny elements at games are executed on time.
• Be the spoken voice of Benny the Bull, able to vocalize what Benny's thoughts and feelings are and communicate them to fans throughout the game.
• Prepare all props and equipment for each home game.
• Work with the team to conceptualize new creative skits and props.
• Facilitate and assist with contests and promotions.
• Assist with management and training of part-time gameday assistants.
• Order and purchase props and costumes as needed.
• Maintain the mascot costumes (laundering on site as well as proper care after games and appearances).
• Assist with Benny and the Elevators performances, rehearsals, and equipment logistics.
• Maintain the highest level of integrity when representing our team, United Center and team partners.
APPEARANCE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work closely with the Manager of Entertainment on all appearance bookings and logistics for internal events for Partnership Marketing, Branding, Community Relations/Chicago Bulls Charities and Premium Seating, as well as paid outside appearances.
• Lead the planning and programming of Benny appearances.
• Provide on-site management for all Benny appearances.
• Assist in all appearance activities (photography, autograph sessions, leading games/contests, being the voice of appearances to help direct the flow of the event).
• Travel with Benny for appearances outside the Chicagoland area.
• Consistently be flexible for work hours beyond the typical work week for events both during the evenings and weekends.
• Support the upkeep of Benny's ''Bull Ride'' for traveling to appearances (cleaning, fuel, stocked with props/giveaways, etc.).
• Assist with the maintenance and organization of Benny's storage room.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Flexible schedule with ability to work nights and weekends, as the schedule requires.
• Ability to exhibit strong work ethic.
• Should be experienced in basic office protocol including: computing skills, verbal communication, and appropriate attire/grooming.

In addition to regular office hours, the Mascot Assistant will work a combination of:
• All home Bulls games plus any additional playoff games.
• Rehearsals as needed.
• Outside appearances, on evenings/weekends.
