Part Time Unpaid Internship
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Windy City Bulls are seeking a highly motivated, organized and dedicated individual to fill our Marketing & Communications Intern position for the Summer months in advance of the 2018 - 2019 season. The individual that fills this position will primarily be responsible for executing marketing and communication initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will be given the opportunity to learn and understand the planning and developing a robust off-season communication plan that includes regular updates to our website. In addition, you will also collaborate with the Ticket Sales department to execute complex e-mail marketing plans that are designed to increase the development of leads for ticket package sales. More specifically, you are responsible for the following:
COMMUNICATIONS
• Assist in the management of all website content, ensuring that the team's website is always accurate and up to date.
• Create continuous basketball and business content on social media.
• Assist in the development of all media relations materials needed in preparation for the season, including: media guide, roster and statistics and credential requests.
• Coordinate media requests for athletes and coaching staff, as requested.
• Assist in the Compilation and distribution of team press releases and news postings.
MARKETING
• Track campaigns and effectively follow-up on marketing opportunities.
• Provide oversight of the effective and accurate information required to grow our various sales databases, including ensuring proper management of the respective targeted lists.
• Serve as the primary liaison for all graphic design between the franchise, Chicago Bulls' Creative Services Department and third parties, as needed.
• Management of graphic design needs will include: establishing a detailed listing of all requests, properly submitting production requests in a timely manner, receiving final approval and distribution or implementation.
• Assist in developing the organization's marketing plan for the season.
• Actively participate in community appearances, as needed, while serving as a point of contact for general information about the organization when representing the company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current college student or recent college graduate (Experience or degree emphasized in communications, sports marketing or business administration is preferred)
• A real passion for marketing & communications
• A strong knowledge of professional basketball
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Proficient in the professional use of all social media, including Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and LinkedIn
• Excellent teammate, with positive energy, who has a desire to learn
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Highly organized and strong time management skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication (both written and verbal) with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
• Ability to work quickly in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Note that this role requires flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The individual who fills this position will work an average of 30 hours per week from June 1, 2018 through October 1, 2018.
