POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Windy City Bulls are the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls and are based at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, IL. The franchise is owned and operated by the Chicago Bulls and will begin its third season this Fall playing at the 5,000-seat capacity facility.
As the Director of Ticket Sales, you will guide all ticket sales programming and dedicated sales staff by successfully leading and delegating the responsibilities described below. The individual in this position will be expected to build upon and establish a successful framework designed to aggressively grow the organization's ticket sales revenue while also personally assisting with the sales process by mentoring, training and working closely with the sales staff to prospect, build key local relationships, and nurture existing clients while closing new business.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role, you will be expected to meet and exceed annual personal and organization ticket revenue goals with an emphasis on developing campaigns that will significantly increase season tickets and groups. To achieve the goals set for the organization, you will actively be involved in the following responsibilities:
MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT:
• Identify, recruit, hire and train current and new members of our Sales Team to build a dynamic sales environment that will accomplish the sales goals of the organization.
• Run the daily activities of the Sales Team and provide regular feedback, training and coaching during weekly reviews.
• Regularly measure the effectiveness of the organization's various sales campaigns and offerings and provide recommendations for further improvement when necessary.
• Provide guidance on the sales process with every team member, including assistance with prospecting, qualifying potential clients, presenting solutions and attending meetings with everyone on a regular basis.
• Develop prospecting campaigns, including scripting, training and execution with a goal of driving revenue.
• Develop and lead the servicing program to ensure regular touch points of existing members and partners, including development of additional benefits and programming that will continue to strengthen our existing relationships.
• Actively solicit feedback from existing clients and use this information to develop additional benefits, address concerns and improve the ticket offerings for our customers.
• Work with the CR & Communications Manager to develop marketing campaigns that provide positive exposure for, and assist in the sale of the franchise's ticket offerings.
• Lead the development and design of sales collateral for ticketing, including flyers, brochures, website and social media content and e-marketing.
• Work to identify new key community relationships or partnerships that will assist in developing new opportunities. Represent the organization in the community at various events and programming.
• Actively remain aware of trends and developments within our league and industry and provide ideas and insights to improve our ticket sales portfolio.
ADMINISTRATION:
• Develop and execute effective internal reporting mechanisms to track daily, weekly and overall progress towards goals and campaigns.
• Partner with the Business Operations Manager to produce weekly sales reports for distribution to Sales Staff and designated Chicago Bulls staff as well as to accurately submit ticket sales totals to the League office on-time and as requested.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the facility's Box Office management team and the franchise, and generate revenue reports for review.
• Delegate administrative responsibilities to Sales team members when necessary, including: printing tickets and handling ticket requests.
• Lead the management of ticket inventory for all events, ensuring that seating locations are handled appropriately to drive the most revenue.
• Learn, manage and provide guidance of the various sales tools that the company has invested in to provide the most efficient sales process possible, including oversight of the company's CRM (KORE), Groupmatics, Paciolan Ticketing System and LinkedIn
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
You are a potential fit for this role if you are highly motivated, organized and creative with a strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task. We are seeking an individual that has the following career experience:
• 5 years of experience in ticket sales and service role.
• Previous management of a professional sports team in a sales environment preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in sports management, marketing, business, or a related field.
• Proven ability to develop and train sales staff.
• Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management and organization skills.
• Strong work ethic and high personal accountability.
• Ability to communicate articulately and confidently both verbally and in writing with individuals at every level.
• Basic understanding of finance with the ability to produce regular sales reports.
• Proficient in Ticketing software; knowledge of Paciolan preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment while prioritizing and leading multiple tasks/projects at the same time.
• Able to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
