Chapeau FX is a Visual Effects company located in Los Angeles looking for a Senior Developer that has experience with hand held device based GPU rendering.
We foster a generalist mentality to our work and all of our artists are encouraged to work in multiple disciplines, while being empowered to push their creative boundaries.
Chapeau FX has an immediate opening for a Senior Unity or Unreal Developer with a working knowledge of 3D platforms.
Responsibilities & Duties
• Develop game mechanics and system processes.
• Implement, hone and optimize functionality in existing game engines.
• Collaborate with others to design and build architectures for new systems.
• Contribute original ideas towards all aspects of game production and development.
• Provide technical leadership in areas of specialization and assist other engineers with technical questions.
• Work independently to complete assigned projects with limited supervision.
• Complete CPU and GPU specific optimization tasks.
• Develop familiarity with hardware details of specific game platforms, their capabilities and performance bottlenecks.
• Constantly analyze code performance and architect optimizations.
• Document developments and code.
Qualifications
• Advanced working knowledge of hand held device GPU rendering.
• Advanced working knowledge of Unity or Unreal.
• Attention to detail with an eye for design.
• Previous experience working in graphic design, animation or VFX.
• Technical Director with a film or gaming background preferred.
• 3D asset pipeline experience; utilizing prebaked assets or re-creating programmatically.
• Experience with 3D software platforms (Maya, Houdini, Cinema 4D).
• Strong knowledge of C# and moderate knowledge of other programming languages.
• Good working knowledge of Version Control: Git & SourceTree.
• Experience with multiple core system tasks, such as graphics, networking, audio/video, and tools.
• Previous experience with Notch is preferred.
• Excellent performance optimization skills.
• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field.
Position is for contract work, not fulltime or staff.
