POSITION SUMMARY
The person in this position serves as the primary database administrator of the Tessitura patron management application. This person is the primary support representative for Tessitura users as well as creator of custom reports. The person in this position works collaboratively with all departments ensuring Tessitura and ancillary systems are meeting all user requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work with Information Systems to ensure the ongoing health of the Tessitura databases and ancillary systems including but not limited to our website, e-blast client, business intelligence tools, and Tessitura integrations with other vendors.
2. Create customizations or data configurations to facilitate evolving business needs and streamline existing ones utilizing SQL.
3. Develop strategic workplans to balance the workload and effectively manage upgrades, season planning and special projects.
4. Troubleshoot Tessitura, e-blast client, and website issues.
5. Manage user group security rights and ensure users have the appropriate levels of security at all times.
6. Coordinate with the Digital Projects Manager on all non-content operations for the CTG website.
7. Work with web developers on new site features, customizations and testing.
8. Document Tessitura and website configuration and customizations to ensure that institutional knowledge is retained and stored for future reference/use.
9. Fulfill Tessitura custom report requests and data compilation that have been approved by the Director of Finance and Technology and work with the users to make sure they understand their own requests. Helps departments make informed decisions about changes and updates in Tessitura policy and practices.
10. Serve as the technical advisor and lead Tessitura Team meetings
11. Conduct periodic Tessitura server software updates and other related client software updates.
12. Coordinate testing efforts through the use of meaningful and documented testing plans.
13. Ensure proper database backups for all critical databases throughout all of CTG's servers.
14. Work as a member of the IS Dept. team to assist other IS Dept. members, or help CTG staff with general computer issues as needed.
15. Serve as the technical lead for various application special projects as required.
16. Submit, track, and resolve support issues with Tessitura Network and Made Media website support.
17. Other duties as may be assigned.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Understands that the role may be called upon for support activities outside of normal business hours
2. Keep work space neat and organized
3. Comfortable with multiple deadlines and shifting priorities, exhibiting poise and focus.
QUALIFICATIONS
A. Knowledge and essential skills
1. Demonstrated ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds.
2. Enthusiasm, dedication, a sense of humor and a drive to succeed.
3. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
4. Must be able to easily travel to, within and around a variety of locations, both interior and exterior for meetings, events and other job-related activities.
5. Ability to effectively multi-task, shift priorities and meet deadlines.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills
5. Strong logical and analytical thinker is a must
B. Minimum requirements: Essential functions and abilities
1. Three (3) - Five (5) years of DBA experience, arts and non-profit background a plus.
2. Knowledge of IT and/or non-profit operations.
3. Outstanding interpersonal, organization, and communication skills
C. Education, Experience and Licensing
1. Working knowledge of computers and software including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, SQL, electronic calendaring, email and databases. Knowledge of Tessitura database, HTML, XML, and C# a plus.
2. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
3. Valid driver's license
