Part Time Unpaid Internship
Work Schedule: Feb 11 - April 19; Fridays + 1 additional weekday, 16 hours/week total.

The Account Sales Intern will be part of a comprehensive in-house Marketing Department of over 50 staff members, including staff specialists in strategic planning, media buying, grassroots organizing and event planning. As part of the Marketing Department, the Account Sales Intern will participate in discussions and provide insights into target audiences for outreach for each production at Center Theatre Group. By learning how to market a show, the Account Sales intern will acquire unique tools and skills with which they can market themselves in the business world.
The sales skills taught in the Marketing and Communications Department, including online research, prospecting, and account management, can be transferred to countless industries. The Account Sales intern will also learn about planning and executing special events for Center Theatre Group.
Primary Projects and Learning Opportunities
1. Commit consistently to a 10-week internship for 16 hours per week (2 days/week, 8 hours/day); meet regularly with supervisor
2. Research potential clients
3. Identify, prioritize, and target appropriate corporate/group sales leads and be comfortable talking on the phone to such business categories to solicit about the current season
4. Assist in the creation of marketing materials for the department
5. Work closely with Tessitura Account Management (ticketing system)
6. Occasionally help with client events (outside of standard internship hours, but included in the 16 hours/week)
