CBS Sports Digital's multi-platform offerings include CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports apps for mobile and connected TV devices; the 24/7 streaming sports news network CBS Sports HQ; 247Sports; MaxPreps; CBS Sports fantasy games; and SportsLine.
Overview & Responsibilities:
The Publicist will manage publicity efforts for CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network various properties, shows and platforms, including the NFL, college football, college basketball, soccer and golf among others. Specific property assignments to be determined based on the candidate.
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
• Create press materials, including press releases, talking points, bios, etc.
• Manage media interviews, photoshoots, and publicity opportunities.
• Pitch ideas and create promotional opportunities for properties, shows and talent.
• Serve as a member of the CBS Sports Communications team and contribute to initiatives, PR campaigns, and events, as needed.
• Watch/monitor weekend and nighttime games and events.
• Coordinate with marketing and social media teams to amplify CBS Sports messaging and promotion.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Public Relations or Corporate Communications, preferably in Sports or Media industry.
• Good publicity skills with a strong understanding of the media landscape (traditional and digital)
• Knowledge of Sports Landscape.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with talent and media (print, online and broadcast)
Additional Qualifications:
• Excellent communications and writing skills required.
• Self-starter, personable and adaptable partner
• Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and on multiple projects at once.
• Ability to manage both traditional and digital publicity strategies
• Proficient in Photoshop
• Strong experience and knowledge of various social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google .
• Weekend and evening work required.
