Successful daily television talk show seeks an Assistant Tape Vault Manager. Must be very efficient, extremely detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
Assists the Supervisor & Vault Manager in overseeing the general day-to-day running of the Tape Vault; set up procedures and workflow, prioritizes jobs, checks that deadlines and quality of work are met. Handles any crisis / issues, sets up corrective procedures; proactively tackles matters before they become problems. Works with the Production teams and Post to make sure that all needs are met, especially for tapings & deliverables. Will have the opportunity to run the Tape Vault in the evenings and possibly on weekends, in the absence of the Supervisor.
This position is also very hands-on in the daily operations of the Tape Vault - ie processing tapes (input data, label, track, pull, shelve). Duties include handling & organizing digital video files for post processing, and managing data files.
Requirements:
Assistant Managerial experience in a Post setting, and previous Vault / library experience preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills; a team leader. Adept at crisis resolution; able to smoothly deal with chaos, last-minute issues and challenges. Able to effectively deal with all levels of staff, from PAs to Producers.
Experience handling & organizing digital video files as prep for post processing. Familiarity with tape & digital formats a plus. Skilled at managing data files.
Flexibility with hours a must. Swing to night shift that includes Sat & Sun, with 2 week days out; regular 10-hr days and appropriate overtime pay, which may include additional days. This is a non-union position in Post Production.
