KCBS2/KCAL9 has an immediate opening for a Technical Operations Center (TOC) Technician for the Los Angeles Duopoly. The Technical Operations Center (TOC) Operator (Union) is responsible for working as a team with editorial staff and field crews in acquiring, routing and operating equipment for the KCBS2/KCAL9 News operation.
Job Function:
Duties include acquiring and routing technically accurate signals. Sound technical decisions within tight deadlines
• Safely operate news gathering equipment
• Edit content quickly and accurately
Qualifications:
A successful candidate must have a sound understanding of RF and evolving technologies with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Bring a ''can-do'' approach to problem solving in a fast paced-high energy environment. Also, open to implementing new technologies and/or methods to accomplish future assignments.
Required:
• Knowledge of RF principles and Satellite tuning
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to work in fast paced intense environment
• Must be a self starter with excellent organizational skills
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude & leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities a must.
• Excellent people and communication skills
• Strong ability to manage conflicts and find resolutions.
• SNG truck operation skills a plus
