Full Time Paid Internship
The CBS News Internship Program offers exciting opportunities for college students who are currently enrolled in a 4-year university, have achieved junior status and are interested in pursuing a career in journalism or broadcasting. Placement possibilities include The Evening News, Face the Nation, CBS This Morning, Capitol Hill, Newspath, News Radio, National Desk, CBSN and Weekend News. Assignments vary day-to-day and duties vary in each department. Interns can expect to learn fundamental news-gathering skills, find, confirm and report news stories, greet guests, log tapes, coordinate script, research stories, conduct preliminary interviews, assist during shoots, select footage, perform light clerical duties and assist producers and talent.
Qualifications:
Juniors, seniors, and graduate students are eligible. Participants must have a passion for news, excellent written and verbal communication abilities and a comprehensive knowledge of current events. Students must be available to work full time from June 1 - August 7. A 3.0 GPA or above is recommended. CBS News will compensate each student an hourly wage. CBS News does not require students to receive college credit. Students are solely responsible for coordinating and meeting the credit requirements of their college/university. Due to the high volume of applicants, the office cannot respond to application-status inquiries; qualified students are contacted directly for a video interview.
