Description:
Develop, produce, and write hour long 48 Hours episodes from story conception through final delivery
Responsibilities:
• Research and develop true crime stories for competitive network docuseries
• Manage production team and budget
• Book and pre-interview story characters
• Work closely with talent, senior producers, editors in all phases of production process
• Write interview questions and briefing notes for correspondents
• Write scripts that emphasize complex story telling without compromising integrity
• Pivot on deadline to incorporate new facts and information in scripts
• Follow CBS News standards and practices
• Review content with attorneys
• Develop and oversee online content to promote broadcast on multi-platforms
• Produce segments for breaking news as needed
Qualifications:
• Required 10 years of writing experience in print, digital and/or television
• Required 5 years of long-form documentary producing – producing standalone hours preferred
• Strong writing, story-telling, editorial and communication skills
• Ability to juggle multiple facets of production and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to collaborate well with all levels of production staff
• self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a team
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Keen problem solver
