Role Summary
We are looking for an organized, and relatable HR Generalist for our fast-paced HR Business Partner team, supporting CBS News. The HR Generalist plays a key role in keeping the team organized around HR and business priorities and helping employees and managers navigate the company. Responsibilities
• Serve as lead HRBP for our Archive Sales and Archive Library departments; approximately 60 employees. Work closely with leadership and staff on all HR needs from hiring and onboarding top talent to thinking critically about their organizational structure and helping employees achieve their highest potential.
• Provide broad support across the News Division with headcount tracking, securing hiring approvals, crafting job descriptions, and posting job requisitions.
• Handle employee relations issues; coach and counsel employees on career development, skill development and interpersonal relationships. Mediate and resolve conflicts. Support managers' efforts to provide employees with feedback both oral and written; draft/co-author speaking points, development plans and disciplinary memos. Partner with managers on termination actions. Partner and coordinate with employment law, labor, and our central investigation teams as appropriate; ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and practices.
• Prepare and maintain employee census and other ad hoc reports and metrics. Work with VP on diversity reporting for leaders; strategize and implement critical D&I initiatives.
• Process HR transactions respond to routine employee inquiries and connect employees with central resources as needed.
• Stay abreast of trends related to the Human Resources discipline; pursue and attend training courses and other learning opportunities to keep skills current.
• Assist with the ideation, planning, and execution of employee engagement activities.
• Support team with ad hoc projects. Handles other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• 3 years of HR experience meeting fast paced employee or client needs
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
