Full Time Paid Internship
CBS News is accepting applications for a fall internship in the Atlanta Bureau. The Atlanta Bureau is responsible for covering the southeast region of the United States, including 16 major cities. Interns will use their discipline and digital media skills to help produce stories for CBS News. Intern duties include assisting producers and correspondents for The CBS Evening News, CBS This Morning, Weekend News and other CBS News programs. Interns will do research, help set up stories, conduct preliminary interviews, assist during shoots, select footage, log tape, attend press conferences and do other various tasks. CBS News will compensate each student an hourly wage. CBS News does not require students to receive college credit. Students are solely responsible for coordinating and meeting the credit requirements of their college/university.
Qualifications:
Must be a junior, senior or graduate student enrolled in a 4-year university. Students majoring in journalism, broadcasting or communications are preferred, but those majoring in public relations, marketing, advertising, English, history, international studies and political science are welcome to apply and will be considered. Participants must be good researchers, self-starters, ambitious, have good writing and verbal communication skills, have excellent computer skills and must be knowledgeable of national and international current events,. A 3.0 GPA or above is recommended. Students must be available to work at least 20 hours a week in Atlanta from September 10 – December 14.
