Full Time Paid Internship
The Web Developer Intern is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining front-end code for high-volume, high-traffic end-user facing websites. Collaborating with Engineering, Product, Design, Marketing, QA, Operations and Editorial teams. Working from PSD designs and/or written specifications, the Associate Web Developer is responsible for the development of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP. This position requires excellent communication skills, along with good organization and collaboration abilities.
Logistics:
• Time commitment: full-time, 40 hours per week during our regular office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm) but times may vary per team
• This is a paid internship and can also be for university credit if it meets your university's guidelines
Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
• At least 1 year(s) development experience working with the following:
Required
• Web Standards, the DOM, cross-browser & cross-platform HTML
• CSS positioning, HTML/CSS architecture
• JavaScript (Native and Frameworks) and AJAX (w/ Restful API access)
• PHP or equivalent server-side web development language (JSP, ASP.net, etc.)
• XML or JSON
Preferred
• Experience with jQuery, RequireJS, Compass, SASS, LESS, Symfony, Laravel, Build Systems
• Working knowledge of Java or equivalent programming language (C#, C, C , Objective C, etc.)
• Knowledge of Agile and/or similar development methodologies
• Mobile application development (iPhone iOS (Objective-C), Android (Java, C, C ))
• Adobe PhotoShop
Non-Technical Competencies
• Ability to work as part of a close-knit cross-functional team
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a high-level of accountability
• Ability to estimate development schedules
Additional Requirements:
• Intern must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
• Must be at least 18 years old
