Full Time Paid Internship
The team operates proprietary software that generates data and content powering SportsLine.com, Fantasy Commissioner player projections, and Scout.com content. We also work with senior editors, HQ TV producers, and analysts on presenting cutting edge sports analytical content. This is also a product oriented team responsible for creating, developing and managing new, innovative products.
Role Details:
As an operations intern you will be trained to run our proprietary sports prediction database software. In order to become a trusted operator you need to have knowledge and passion for all major sports and must be comfortable working with statistical analytics software. You will also be expected to work ''sports media hours'' which can include evenings and weekends.
Your Day-to-Day:
• QA SportsLine Data (Picks, Game Previews) and Player Projections (Fantasy)
• Monitor all league news and update computer projections accordingly
• Work with other analysts to sharpen projections based on your knowledge and expertise
• Respond to custom content requests from editors, producers, and analysts
• Produce original analysis for all CBSSports properties
• Help program and produce Scout.com
Logistics:
• Time commitment: both part-time (up to 30 hours/week) and full-time (up to 40 hours per week) hours available. This Internship role will require candidates to work on some weekend and night shifts.
• This is a paid internship and can also be for university credit if it meets your university's guidelines
Qualifications:
While in-depth training will be provided, candidates need a strong understanding of how stats are used to make predictions and projections in all major sports (football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, golf) and how invested fans (gamblers, fantasy) make decisions.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree - a degree in a quantitative field is a plus (math, statistics, computer programming, sciences)
• A passion for sports
• Avid season long fantasy sports player in multiple sports (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB) and in Daily Fantasy (FanDuel, DraftKings)
• Working knowledge of sports betting and handicapping statistics and terminology
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond to breaking news and live game action
Additional Requirements:
• Intern must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university (Dec 2018 graduates are welcome to also apply)
• Must be at least 18 years old
