Full Time Paid Internship
Do you have a passion for sports? Do you love to code? Do you have experience building web apps from the ground up? And did you win your fantasy league this past season (or at least give it a good run)? If you answered yes to all of the above, than CBS Sports may be looking for you! The CBS Sports Fantasy team is looking for a web developer to build out the latest and greatest in fantasy gaming and content apps used by over a million people every month. To be successful at this job, you need to bring a winning attitude and mad coding skills.
Role Details:
Collaborate closely with product managers, user interface designers, platform engineers, and multiple groups to define and implement product features. Work with other technical teams to identify and build platform elements required to support key fantasy product features.
Your Day-to-Day:
• Stay up to date on merging technologies
• Develop web applications integrated with Restful APIs to meet project requirements
• Collaborate with team members to build pixel perfect interactive features
Logistics:
• Time commitment: full-time, 40 hours per week during our regular office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm) but times may vary per team
• This is a paid internship and can also be for university credit if it meets your university's guidelines
Qualifications:
What you bring to the team:
You have –
• College student on a Computer Science or equivalent degree
• You're a problem solver; you embrace getting your hands dirty with unfamiliar technologies
• Strong initiative and the ability for creative thinking for product development with the ability to work in a collaborative, innovative, agile and team-oriented environment
• Basic understanding of JavaScript, its quirks, and workarounds
• Have worked with a newer Javascript framework, preferably ReactJS but VueJS, AngularJS or BackboneJS are also acceptable
• An understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Design
• Experience integrating data from various back-end services and databases
• Proficiency with HTML(5) and CSS(3)
You might also have-
• You love sports, fantasy sports and/or sports gaming
• You know CSS preprocessors or frameworks (Less, SASS, Bootstrap, etc.)
• Experience writing unit tests for Javascript
Additional requirements:
• Intern must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
• Must be at least 18 years old
