CBS Interactive Advanced Media is part of CBS Interactive's portfolio of multi-platform brands, which includes CBSSports.com, premier Fantasy offerings, high school sports leader MaxPreps, 247Sports, Scout and Sportsline. CBS Interactive Advanced Media is looking for an enthusiastic Software Engineering Video Intern. To be successful at this job, you need to bring a winning attitude and mad coding skills.
Role Details:
We are seeking a highly motivated software engineer to join our high performing video engineering team. This role will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the CBS Sports Digital live and on-demand video streaming platforms.
Your-Day-to-Day:
• Collaborate with team members to maintain existing product features
• Support and enhance core software infrastructure that powers live and on demand video workflows
• Coordinate with various internal and external business and technical stakeholders to categorize and analyze our digital video content library
Key Projects:
• Migrate our existing digital video content library to an entirely new system and workflow
• Work with our central video team to build out new content delivery workflows of our VOD and live content
• Designing and building tools for our internal business users to manage the retrieval of video content
Logistics:
• Time commitment: full-time, 40 hours per week during our regular office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm) but times may vary per team
• This is a paid internship and can also be for university credit if it meets your university's guidelines
Qualifications:
What you bring to the team:
• Currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related Software Engineering field
• Experience developing software with Javascript NodeJS or Python
• Previous exposure to structured Software Development Lifecycle processes and procedures
• Technical analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills
• Strong desire to learn new technologies and techniques
• Solid organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
• Ability to establish professional relationships with team members
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
You might also have:
• Experience working with AWS services like S3 and Lambda
• Experience doing application delivery at an online company in digital media or in the telecommunications industry or at a broadcast company
Additional Requirements:
• Intern must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
• Must be at least 18 years old
