Full Time Paid Internship

CBS Corporation is launching its Summer 2018 Veteran Internship Program for qualified college Veteran students who are enrolled full-time in an accredited university.
Through this initiative, we are committed to supporting the career development of our veterans by offering hands-on experience, career-building workshops, professional development courses and the opportunity to network with the best in our business. Although the following internships (listed below) are based in various departments, the program will be coordinated so participants take part in all of the aforementioned learning opportunities.
CBS Corporation is encouraging Veterans who are current full-time college students to apply. All of the following internships are paid and located in Los Angeles.
Each description provides more detail about the specific internship.
Program Planning & Scheduling:
• Assist on special scheduling projects, using CBS scheduling and research software.
• Screen CBS and other broadcast networks' programming.
• Support department staff with desk and phone coverage.
• Perform various office duties including copying, faxing, filing, creating binders, and distributing materials to other employees.
TV Stations- Creative Services:
Candidate will have the opportunity to experience how a major Broadcast News Television Station operates, specifically the opportunity to see and work with all aspects of promotion and graphic design. Candidate will take part in day to day activities.
Required Skills
/Experience:
• Must have a strong interest in promotion, marketing, graphic design and television industry
• Must have excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Added skills in Creative software a plus (Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut, In-Design)
• Ability to use Social Media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
• Innovative idea generator, able to think outside the box to create unique opportunities
• Established history of delivering projects on-time
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to handle multiple projects at once
• Self-sufficient, ability to find answers or present possible solutions before asking questions
Preferred Skills
/Experience:
• Assist Promotion Writer/Producers produce spots promoting our newscasts; create Station IDs and Holiday IDs.
• Working closely with departments that have day-to-day interaction with Creative Services (News Department, Sales - Marketing Department and Sports)
• Assist production team on promotion and commercial shoots
• Help our print design team create graphics and templates for sales proposals and presentations
• Work with News Graphic Designers to gather elements to create and produce graphics for various news casts
• Administrative support related to daily operations of the Creative Services Department
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must be a Veteran or honorably discharged from the US Armed Forces.
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university through December 2018.
- Be able to work 20 to 30 hours per week.
