CBS58 is looking for an experienced Political/State Capital Reporter to cover local and national politics and legislature in Madison, our state's capital. In this role, you will generate compelling, innovative and timely stories, create and maintain a network of contacts, validate and determine creditability of news leads, and write and produce quality news stories for multiple media platforms.
Successful candidates must be able to shoot and edit their own stories when needed, give live reports on-site or through mobile broadcast units, assist in breaking news general assignments, and generate work that is fair, balanced and accurate. Must live in or be able to relocate to Madison, WI and have experience covering local and state government news, have a clear understanding of libel law and be fluent in the use of government records and the state and federal open records acts.
