CBS58, a part of Weigel Broadcasting Co., has a Director/Technical Director opening in Milwaukee!
Weigel is an entrepreneurial and independent family-owned media company that owns and operates network and independent television stations in Chicago, Milwaukee and South Bend, IN.
In addition to its owned and operated stations, Weigel is the leader in the multicast television networks including MeTV; Movies! in cooperation with Fox Television Stations; and - H&I? Heroes & Icons and Decades Network in partnership with the CBS Television Station Group. These networks are available in over 175 television markets, reaching 96% of U.S. Households.
As a Technical Director you will direct all technical aspects of our fast-paced, graphic intensive newscast and other live and recorded locally produced programs; including baseball and football on CBS58, WMLW and Telemundo Wisconsin. Successfully work with producers, tech crew, talent and engineers to oversee and maintain technical control and improve presentation and flow of the newscasts and locally produced programs. Code newscasts using iNews and offer solutions and alternatives to producers when necessary.
The ideal candidate must be an effective leader and communicator.
Experience with production automation systems such as GV Ignite or Ross Overdrive, and iNews or ENPS are required.
Familiarity with graphic systems, manual program switching and Telemetrics robotic cameras are beneficial.
Candidate must exhibit the ability learn all components of the control room to ensure quality standards; exhibit the ability to troubleshoot issues; adapt quickly to change; and make good judgments in tense situations.
A minimum of 2 years experience directing live news is a must.
This position requires working holidays/nights/weekends.
