Job Summary:
The Operations/Changeover Manager is responsible for managing the facility conversions and assisting with the total operations of Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse and other facilities associated with Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Monsters, Cleveland Charge and CAVS Legion. The position will provide guidance or instructions to other team members in demonstrating how tasks, and procedures or resolve problems. This position will work directly with the Director of Operations in assisting with the execution of over 200 annual events, specific emphasis on working most events and assisting with the general operations during events. This position requires a flexible schedule including working nights, long hours, weekends and holidays.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
• Work closely and coordinate Arena conversions with the conversions team and Director of Operations.
• Actively pursue, develop, and maintain methods for improving the conversion efficiency within the Operations Team.
• Coordinate work projects with all Operations Team work groups (Housekeeping, BME, Building and Event Crew, Event and Full Time Security.
• Support internal and external events for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Monsters and the Cleveland Charge from an operations standpoint.
• Work closely with the event management team on all arena events.
• Comply with all applicable safety life codes, OSHA requirements, NBA, AHL,G-League, ADA regulations, and City of Cleveland requirements.
• Maintain all storage areas and make sure they are neat and clean.
• Keep and maintain and inventory for arena equipment (chairs, tables, tensabarriers, bike rack barricades etc.) using the Aware Manager Software
• Assist other arena teams with the presentation of special events and activities as requested.
• Actively pursue and, develop and maintain methods for improving the overall event/guests experience.
• Work flexible/varied hours as scheduled, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Coordinate the completion of stagehand new hire paperwork and complete all stagehand payroll.
• Experience in a union labor setting.
• All other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Work Experience Requirement:
Twelve months to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education
Requirement:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Information
:
• Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision;
• must be willing to learn the requirements of special events and professional sporting activity presentations;
• must be highly organized and able to exercise personal initiative and sound judgment in prioritizing work;
• must be able to communicate with all levels of team members, including vendors and arena/team leadership;
• must be sensitive and willing to accept highly sensitive information in the strictest confidence; must have strong writing/communication skills;
• must be computer literate with a working knowledge and experience with Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and some CAD software.
