Position Overview
This position may be remote with occasional in-office work at our Louisiana office location as needed.
The Payroll Supervisor is expected to directly oversee and assist payroll coordinators. They must have the proficiency and ability to correctly interpret all collective bargaining agreements inside and outside of the Hollywood jurisdiction and relay accurately to Payroll Coordinators. It is the position of the Payroll Supervisor to participate in key clerical responsibilities in a timely manner such as employee reviews, workload distribution and employee training, in addition to operational oversight. An individual with previous entertainment work experience is preferred and strong technical acumen and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
Directly oversees/assists assigned payroll coordinators and the department as needed.
Enforces policies in the areas of techniques, material usage, capacity planning, production scheduling, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures.
Ensures proper training of staff.
Keeps abreast of all payroll processing systems and modifications.
Assists in compliance with state and federal regulations as well as foreign issues that may arise.
Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with clients, agencies and coworkers to promote a quality service image.
Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate improvements and improved working relationships.
Provides technical/professional advice and knowledge to others within the organization.
Assists clients in obtaining information for payroll production, responds to/researches/resolves client questions and problems.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
College degree or equivalent work experience required.
Must have a minimum of 2-5 years' experience in the entertainment payroll industry.
Understanding of and commitment to maintaining current knowledge of industry trends, concepts, products, practices and financial arrangement.
Multi-level relationship building skills.
Excellent oral and written communication ability.
Ability to work towards team and individual goals.
Knowledge in using an analytical approach to breaking payroll.
Must exhibit sense of urgency with regard to client servicing.
Excellent time management skills.
Excellent PC skills.
Flexibility to shift priorities as needed to service the team's clients.
Must have the ability to break payroll and learn advanced concepts when ready.
Self-motivated, must be able to work independently, goal oriented and people oriented.
Special Work Conditions
Sedentary - involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Some positions may entail exerting up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull.
