Documentary film sales agents and executive producers Cargo Film & Releasing are seeking a Content Acquisitions & Home Entertainment Manager. This position will be a contributor in a high-energy, growing non-fiction company. The position will work closely with the President and Senior Vice President on all matters of targeting, soliciting, evaluating and procuring new content opportunities in all stages of production for distribution worldwide across all platforms. This position will also collaborate to build film presentations, draft deal memos and support negotiation work.
This is an excellent opportunity to be on the front lines of a growing team in the exciting arena of non-fiction film and series worldwide. This position can be remote.
The ideal candidate must be a go-getter, meticulous, highly-motivated and have excellent networking skills. Effective multi-tasker is key to success in the role - someone who can quickly shift priorities and manage time efficiently and be able to switch gears.
Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of the content and acquisition process;
Develop and builds strategic relationships with content producers and filmmakers internationally;
Evaluating and tracking projects at different stages of production and making presentations to the team;
Position will also contribute with other staff in managing and expanding ancillary VOD placement, non-theatrical strategies and on special projects such as theatrical releases;
What You Bring:
• 5 years of relevant work experience in any part of the film business, with familiarity of the national and international content networks;
• Business judgement and documentary film acumen;
• An ease with establishing rapport and building strong relationships;
• Ability to be proactive and think outside the box;
Good, Not Necessary:
• Familiarity with co-production and negotiation process;
• Experience on both the production and business side of the entertainment industry;
• Fluency in a foreign language;
