The Role
BuzzFeed Video is looking for a Junior Video Producer to join our video organization, and specifically, our BuzzFeed Celeb team, in Los Angeles, CA. The Junior Video Producer will support BuzzFeed Celeb across multiple digital video platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
You will directly report to the Supervising Producer, along with the BuzzFeed Celeb team, to build videos and pitches. We ask that you have a heavy mix of physical production and video editing, and proficiency with all basic physical production elements (shooting with DSLR cameras, basic lighting, sound) are a must, along with a solid foundation in video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. We're looking for a digital-native producer who understands producing, directing and editing for the internet.
You Will
• Produce creative, low-cost videos that are following the BuzzFeed Celeb brand
• Create, pitch and build viral formats, including assigned and original videos
• Work with the Supervising Producer to co-produce some content, including collaborative edit support and shared physical production tasks
• Keep up-to-date on talent and topics that are trending in the pop culture sphere, and use them to pitch videos that will be relevant to our audience
• Implement feedback from Supervising Producer and team members promptly
• Conduct shoots with external talent with strict professionalism and demeanor (important)
• Deliver notes on videos through Frame.io
• Iterate off of successful/trending content
• Use viewer and platform data to improve and refine video ideas and execution
• Work with the Publishing Team to grow BuzzFeed Celeb social channels
You Have
• At least 2 years experience creating digital video content
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and the entire CC suite (basic-to-moderate editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro a must)
• Must have experience shooting with DSLRs and a familiarity with basic physical production elements (c-stands, basic sound and lighting equipment, etc.)
• Experience working with external talent, press junkets, or prior work in the pop culture sphere (but not required)
• Expertise in the K-Pop space a huge plus, but not required
• Must be comfortable with most video codecs and formats
• Extremely knowledgeable about at least one social platform such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter (preferably YouTube and/or TikTok, but not required)
To apply:
• No formal cover letters, please. Instead, include a few short paragraphs in your application explaining why you'd be a good fit for this position. We'd also like you to share 2-3 videos that performed well on YouTube within the last year, and explain why you think they were successful.
• Attach a resume.
• Share 3-5 samples of work you've produced.
