We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our People team in New York. This role reports to the VP, People, and will support the Commerce and Technology orgs. You will partner with company executives, local managers and employees to provide guidance on topics ranging from talent management and development, compensation, organizational effectiveness and design, employee relations, staffing and office culture.

General Responsibilities:
• Offer expert HR guidance to local managers and individuals in the following areas: talent management, development, retention and career planning, succession planning, employee relations, organizational design and effectiveness, total reward, staffing, office culture; handle matters in a timely and effective fashion.
• Provide thought leadership regarding organizational design, people-related issues, strategies and execution. Use data to guide decision making to provide and implement proactive solutions.
• Serve as counselor and/or advocate to employees and management regarding policies, employee performance, culture/work environment and other issues; resolve conflicts effectively while minimizing legal exposure.
• Collaborate with other People team members, leading and executing processes that allow for seamless People programs, employee development and candidate experience.
• Remain current on HR practices and applicable federal and local legislation and regulations as relevant; ensure compliance across client groups.
• Partner with Finance and business leadership to maintain employee headcount and assist in reporting on metrics.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Significant HR generalist experience advising clients on all types of HR matters including talent development, employee relations, compensation, staffing, organizational design and effectiveness.
• Experience coaching and counseling managers and individuals, investigating and resolving employee relations issues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience managing transformation and change management.
• Humble confidence and ability to partner with smart and assertive managers.
• Experience providing HR support for Technology organizations desired.
• Comfortable in a creative and flexible environment
• Must be a self-starter and proactive; the role requires someone who takes ownership of projects and does not wait to be instructed
• Excellent communicator who builds rapport and credibility with others easily
• Strong written communication skills
• Solid business acumen and understanding of US labor laws; critical thinker and someone who demonstrates strong HR sensibility
• Must be adept at using various types of technology to communicate and generate documents using google suite and Slack
