The Role
BuzzFeed Video is looking for a video editor who will work with the social team to edit short-form, adapted & licensed content. The Editor will assist our Lead Adaptations Editor to manage a team of freelancers. The Editor can excel in an autonomous work environment and able to juggle multiple priority projects at once.
The Team
BuzzFeed's social media team is stacked with leaders in the social media industry responsible for the growth and sustained success of some of the biggest and most-beloved digital brands in the world. This role would report to the Adaptations Lead in BuzzFeed's Los Angeles office. We are looking to hire ASAP.
You Will
• Edit 4-6 videos a week
• Assist the Lead Adaptations Editor to manage a growing team of freelancers
• Implement feedback from the Social Editor & Adaptations Lead promptly
• Deliver notes on videos via Frame.io on time
• Quickly iterate off of successful/trending content
• Collaborate with the Publishing Team to grow social pages
• Reframe various media for different social channels and platforms
You Have
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro
• Comfortable understanding of most video codecs and formats
• Managed multiple reports: onboarding, giving feedback, adjusting strategy
• Extremely knowledgeable about at least one social platform such as: YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, SnapChat
• Interest in social platforms and data
• Worked in After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Technical, organized, and creative at the same time
• Experienced in an organization that values deadlines and internet video
• Experience behind a camera and knowledge of lighting and sound design a plus
