Summary
The Analyst, Event Finance will be responsible for preparing, refining, and tracking event financials to ensure accuracy and accountability. We are seeking applicants with extraordinary analytical skills with the capability to think and act enthusiastically; unmatched interpersonal and time management skills, and a proven ability to multi-task. He/she should have a real passion for the event, music, and live entertainment industry and seeks to grow their knowledge on an ongoing basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for assessing the financial impact of events by providing financial and analytical support to the Vice President, Event Finance and Development and Programming Department;
• Develops and prepares event pro-formas, budgets, forecasts and various reports for NYCB Live: Home of the Nassau Veteran Memorial Coliseum;
• Identifies and evaluates potential opportunities, as well as risks associated with events; responsible for developing solutions to mitigate risks;
• Works with the legal department and event bookers to maintain contract compliance, tracking, execution of agreements, insurance, invoicing, deposits, etc.;
• Attends arena events and performs end-of-show event settlements with external parties as necessary; prepares post-event flash reports and profit and loss (P&L) statements in coordination with the Vice President, Event Finance & Development;
• Maintains day-to-day communication and relations with promoter settlement representatives, actively communicating potential issues as they may arise;
• Coordinates with various departments to promote efficiency, communication and cost savings, particularly with respect to event staffing efficiencies;
• Issues weekly reports for upcoming NYCB Live: Home of the Nassau Veteran Memorial Coliseum events which include: Event Pacing, Attendance Pacing, and F&B Per Cap Pacing;
• Issues Purchase Order numbers for event-related invoices & submits invoices events to accounts payable for payment processing;
• Maintains physical and electronic master show files to include all essential event reports and relevant correspondence (settlement, marketing, insurance, contracts, etc);
• Develops ad-hoc financial models and analysis as needed and assists with special projects as assigned;
• Occasionally performs event settlements at Barclays Center;
• Assists financial reporting in coordination with the Vice President, Event Finance & Development to senior leadership in a timely basis;
Education
and/or Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or Business Management required;
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in an analytical and finance role;
• Experience working in the sports, entertainment or venue industry preferred;
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Advanced in Microsoft Excel, including but not limited to pivot tables, lookup functions, financial formulas (no SQL or VBA knowledge required); working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;
• Exceptional analytical skills; comprehensive understanding of financial analysis with the ability to evaluate and communicate strategic implications;
• Uncompromised ability to protect the confidentiality and privacy of others in addition to company documents and records when privy to sensitive information;
• Strong independent thinking, reasoning, problem solving and decision-making skills;
• Keen attention to detail, strong conflict resolution, problem solving and decision-making skills;

Travel Requirements
May be required to travel on rare occasions (<5% travel); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.
Work Environment
Based in the offices at Corporate Headquarters in Brooklyn and will be required to settle events on site at NYCB Live: Home of Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum as requested. He/she will be expected to attend events taking place on evenings, weekends and holidays.
