Job Title: House Security
Reports to: Theatre and House Management
Job Grade: Part-Time
The Charles Playhouse is seeking to add one or more new members to our House Security team. The Charles Playhouse, home to Blue Man Group and Shear Madness, employs House Security to ensure the safety and comfort of all that attend, perform, or work at the venue. This team maintains the ongoing security of the building, but must also possess exceptional customer services skills.
Duties Include
Stay alert, identify & prevent any threats against and/or to the safety, security and well-being of the venue and its guests.
Provide quick and efficient response to emergencies, evacuations and safety concerns (Current Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED is a plus).
Assist with group arrivals, accessibility arrangements, and ticketing challenges.
Prevent outside food and beverages from entering the venue.
Greet all late guests and notify the House staff.
Oversee third-party security personnel.
Monitor the traffic flow in the lower lobby for post-show Meet & Greet.
Assist with closing and securing building at end of night.
Qualifications
Proven talent for customer service.
Exhibits strong conflict resolution skills.
Utilizes professional communication techniques when interacting with patrons and staff.
Presents a polite and courteous demeanor.
Possesses an understanding of how to provide an enjoyable interaction with guests while ensuring a safe environment.
Is responsible, friendly and team oriented.
Remains calm in the event of an emergency to assist with building evacuations.
Able to stand for periods of time with the ability to ascend/descend stairs quickly.
Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs.
Comfortable being outside in all weather conditions.
Available to work primarily weekends. Ability to work occasional daytime or weekday evening performances will be considered a plus.
Ideal candidate will be available to work Friday evenings and all day on Saturday.
