Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Southeast Region

Summary
Broadway Across America seeks an experienced and collaborative Director of Marketing and Public Relations. An ideal candidate would provide positive and strategic marketing and publicity opportunities for Broadway Across America in Atlanta and New Orleans, the touring shows they represent and the local institutions and programs which support them; as well as maintain strong relationships with the local media and community, including through social media.
Responsibilities
Atlanta:
• Plan and implement an integrated marketing and sales program including advertising, media relations, press releases, community relations, website, social media, cross promotion, grass roots outreach, collateral material, direct marketing, and signage
• Coordinate strategy and content for websites and other online communications, including digital advertising, video and email marketing, and social media
• Oversee the media buying which is handled by the local Marketing Manager in Atlanta
• Negotiate annual partnerships
• Lead the direction and creation of subscription materials (brochures, ticket packets, customer service related communications, etc.)
• Prepare discount strategies alongside VP, marketing manager, and ticketing team.
• Establish and execute the on sale and priority offer schedule as well as coordinate with all departments
• Work closely with VP, ticketing manager, and Broadway in New Orleans team on dynamic pricing strategies and implementation
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and analysis of season and single ticket marketing
• Monitor sales and develop and execute effective and immediate responses to sales patterns driven by customer expectations, campaign initiatives, and national/market trends
• Participate in weekly calls with various departments and update teams as needed
• Produce Broadway In Atlanta Season Magazine (Atlanta Magazine) and coordinate with all necessary press agents
• Develops social media strategy and campaigns with team for individual touring productions, season packages, series branding, institutional opportunities, education programs, community outreach initiatives, promotions, etc.
• Help execute social media engagement on a daily and weekly basis that promotes individual titles and the Broadway in Atlanta brand through Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram
• Share responsibility of attending local festivals with Marketing Manager
• Serve as the organization's press representative and coordinate media interest by ensuring regular contact and appropriate response to media requests
o Develop Atlanta's publicity strategy and campaigns for individual touring productions, season packages, institutional opportunities, education programs, community outreach initiatives, promotions, etc.
o Pitch story angles to local media and oversees execution
o Prepare thorough PR Plan and Publicity Report for each campaign
o Protect and develop the Broadway in Atlanta brand
o Submit post show PR recap for each engagement
o Maintain positive relationships with show press representatives as well as local media outlets
o Oversee press night performances, which includes inviting local media and maintaining a press list, distributing comp tickets, providing reviewers with current photos, releases and any cast changes for the press opening performance.
o Accompany cast and local representatives to TV and radio interviews, as well as promotions, events, in-school visits, etc.
o Accompany local media to other markets for show previews and advance publicity opportunities.
o Maintain relationships with charities, community and promotional partners
o Attend local networking and community events
o Provide reactionary publicity support/crisis management for issues such as weather delays and cancellations or any show-related issue that may cause negative perception of the show's brand or Broadway Across America's brand.
o Provide input for educational opportunities and facilitates workshops, talk backs and other enrichment programs. Coordinate the media coverage for these events as needed
New Orleans:
• In conjunction with the Broadway in New Orleans marketing team and outside press agency, lead the marketing and public relations strategies and timelines
• Work closely with Broadway in New Orleans Director of Marketing on creating and developing advertising plans and media buys for individual show engagements
• Assist in the creation and approvals of individual show materials with local designer and Broadway in New Orleans marketing team
• Work closely with Broadway in New Orleans Director of Marketing on creating, developing and managing advertising plans for subscription efforts
• Lead the direction and creation of subscription materials (brochures, ticket packets, customer service related communications, etc.) with input from partner teams
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and analysis of season and single ticket marketing
• Prepare discount strategies alongside local team, VP, marketing manager, and ticketing team.
• Report to VP of Southeast Region and President of The Marketing Division, NY
• Work closely with VP, ticketing manager, and Broadway in New Orleans team on dynamic pricing strategies and implementation
• Create and maintain calendar of emails and manage the creation and execution of outbound communications thru TMD NY
• Work closely with Broadway in New Orleans team on digital marketing strategies
o Coordinate digital campaigns through the TMD national interactive division
o Recap digital campaign results
• Help coordinate the social media calendar with the Broadway in New Orleans marketing team
Additional Job Requirements
• Some travel required
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or public relations preferred, and 3-5 years' experience in theater/entertainment marketing and sales (Additional experience may be substituted for education)
• Strong writing, communication and organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
• Well versed in Microsoft Office products
• Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple, changing priorities
• Demonstrate effective knowledge of print, electronic digital and social media.
