Summary
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and energetic person to join our team in the role of Accounting Manager. The primary responsibility of this role is management of a team of accounting staff: leading and coordinating daily, weekly, and monthly tasks related to financial statement close, budget/forecast, and audit fieldwork. Inclusive of that responsibility, you will oversee all general ledger transactions within the business unit; provide guidance and mentorship to staff; insure the integrity of the month-end positions of the general ledger, and perform budget and forecast analysis. This position oversees the accounting for our North American revenues - the ability to understand reconciliation of sales, cash, and receivables is a key prerequisite. In addition to daily, weekly, and monthly duties, candidates must be able to perform ad-hoc analysis and deliver information to management on a timely basis.
This position will work from our New York City office in midtown.
Responsibilities Include:
• Oversee the daily operations of the North American revenues accounting team.
• Manage various accounting functions including general ledger transactions, accounts receivable, revenue and cash accounting, budget and forecast analysis, across multiple currencies and subsidiary transaction systems.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement positions; review staffs' work entries for accuracy; overseeing general ledger account reconciliations; and preparing independent reconciliations and supporting schedules as required.
• Prepare reporting and analysis for interdepartmental and executive requests.
• Coordinate annual audit fieldwork responsive to Company's needs.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to our accounting team to ensure staff growth.
• Special Projects as required.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree required in relevant field (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Bus. Admin, or related field) or commensurate knowledge gained through relevant work experience.
• Four (4) years of prior professional experience with demonstrated progressive advancement
• Microsoft Office: Excel power-user
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, planning, & organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and account reconciliation skills are required.
• The ability to multi-task on many projects, both immediate and long-term, is essential.
