Job Description:
The nonprofit organization, Breaking into Hollywood (BiH), is seeking a Media Intern to work with the Founder who recently landed a mainstream book deal with a traditional publisher. She is seeking a reliable, resourceful and self-motivated individual as an intern to perform various tasks involving administration, research, publicity, social media, marketing and strategic planning. Intern will also work alongside the Writer with her various media projects, including a Christmas movie that's in development and may go into production this winter. However, the primary focus of internship is on a book that will be released thuan summer. In addition, the intern will provide assistance to the writer/producer as it relates to the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Breaking into Hollywood. This is a very unique position for someone who wants to build hand-on experience and strong contacts to further their own career. Approx. 10-15/hrs per week; this is a remote/telecommute position with some in-person meetings.
Responsibilities include research online, scheduling and attending phone meetings, preparing and typing up documents, and assisting with editing and production-related projects. Major phone, email and text correspondence work. Thank
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6-month commitment (3-month internship only applicable for enrolled college students)
- Must have 24-HR access to computer and internet
- Must be highly organized
- Ability to maintain confidentiality is a must.
- Excellent phone etiquette.
- Great interpersonal communication skills.
- Reliable transportation & live in Los Angeles County
- Must be excellent with using Microsoft word, Excel and Outlook.
- Able to take direction and work independently
- Must be passionate about diversity and a great brainstormer
